Visitors lost their hands in a shark attack after trying to “interact” with the animals.
The Canadian woman attacked local Nathalie Ross around 10:30 a.m. on February 7 at about 10:30 a.m.
It is believed that her husband tried to fight the shark before being taken to shore.
Photos show Ms. Rose lying on the beach as her husband and others try to stop the bleeding.
Magnetic media reported that the woman lost both hands and was bitten on her thigh.
She was airlifted to the hospital and was expected to survive.
“The shark is about 6 feet long, but the species is yet to be confirmed,” Miami Herald reported.
“It has been confirmed that visitors are trying to interact with animals in the shallows in an attempt to take pictures.”
Thompson’s Bay Beach is located in the Blue Hills settlement, on the north side of the country’s main islands.
Government officials determined that the shark had moved to deeper water until noon on February 9.
After that, the camera was shared about the shark attacking in the water near the place where the attack occurred.
