The U.S. Army announced that it will no longer allow trans people to enlist and will stop promoting procedures related to gender shifts in service members.
In a statement shared on X, the Army said the decision came into effect immediately and that all medical procedures related to promoting or confirming the gender transition of service members have been suspended.

It further stated: “Effective immediately, all new additions to persons with a history of gender irritability have been suspended, and all plans, or medical procedures for the program, are suspended in addition to the program that is relevant to the identification or promotion of gender transition for service members.”
“Gender-irritated people volunteer to serve our country and will be treated with dignity and respect,” the statement added.
