Senator Ben Murray-Bruce challenged Tigran Gambaryan, executive of Binance Holdings Limited, to conduct a neutral country polygraph test on his bribery allegations against Nigeria’s national security adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
Gambaryan, Binance’s head of financial crime compliance, was detained in Nigeria from February 2024 to October 2024 as part of a federal investigation into so-called money laundering and economic instability.
On Friday, February 14, Gambaryan claimed on X that three Nigerian lawmakers demanded $150 million in bribes to cryptocurrencies and accused Ribadu of seeking spending for his political ambitions. The Nigerian government has since dismissed the allegations as false and unfounded.
Murray-Bruce defended Ribadu’s insistence that the NSA was powerless and criticized Gambaryan’s claim, which showed that the voluntary officer should thank him for his release, Because Ribadu can ensure that he is still imprisoned.
“I have known Mallam Nuhu Ribadu all my life and can be absolutely sure he can’t make accusations against him,” the former senator wrote.
“I challenge @tigragambaryan and if he really believes his claim, he will do a polygraph test.”
Murray-Bruce further accused Gambaryan of winning Nigeria’s reputation on baseless charges and suggested he prepare for his failure to test.
