Dave Ramsey, a personality and finance expert at ABC, once said that nothing in a marriage is like “my money” and “your money.”
The author said this in a Facebook post on Valentine’s Day, saying that marriage unites two people, so when a couple has a separate bank account, it can lead to a lack of trust, combat and a weaker relationship.
“If you get married, “my money” and “your money” don’t exist. This is “our money”. It’s the only way to win,” he wrote.
Marriage is about unity. But when couples separate money, they act like roommates rather than teams.

Couples separate their money for a variety of reasons:
“I don’t want to fight for money.”
“I do more so I should control it.”
“We have different spending habits.”
“I don’t want to lose my independence.”
But this is just a symptom of a bigger problem.
