    • JAMB warns candidates not to “strike hard to choose exam towns” for the unified Level 3 entrance examination (UTME) in 2025.

    • According to JAMB, candidates show unusual preferences for exam towns.

    • There are only a few states, including Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, etc., with optional mock check locations and suggest candidates wisely choose their test towns.

The Joint Admissions and Admissions Committee (JAMB) warns candidates sitting in the 2025 Unified Level 3 Entrance Examination (UTME) to prevent “fately choosing exam towns.” The warning was issued by Board spokesman Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement provided to journalists in Abuja on Sunday.

Benjamin stressed that the board did not choose towns to take the exam or to have an optional mock exam. “JAMB observed an unusual preference for candidates for their choice of test towns, which may be for the optional mock exams,” he said.

A spokesman explained that 90% of the available space for optional simulation exercises nationwide was filled, with only a few states having slots available. He lists the remaining slot machines such as gombe, jigawa, kano, katsina, kebbi, kebbi, plateau, sokoto, talaba and Yobe.

Benjamin advises candidates to consider travel logistical and convenience and choose their test town wisely. “The board provides candidates with mock inspection space based on the availability of mock inspection centers, and once the capacity of the town is reached, it will no longer be available,” he said.

The spokesperson stressed that although candidates have the right to choose their favorite test town, they must consider the meaning of their choice.

“The board does not want to be over-intensified because the mock check is just to give the due candidates the opportunity to experience the CBT environment and to enable the board to test its facilities,” he said.

Benjamin quoted the board as saying: “Cannouncements are encouraged to choose test towns with travel logistics and convenience to ensure a smoother experience on the test day.”

JAMB suspends two CBT centers to violate registration procedures

The Joint Admissions and Admissions Committee (JAMB) has suspended two computer-based testing (CBT) centers to violate the registration procedures in the 2025 Unified Level 3 Enrollment Inspection (UTME).

The decision was announced in a statement by JAMB spokesman Fabian Benjamin.
