JAMB warns UTME candidates to choose in exams, Cites Limited simulates slots

The Joint Admissions and Admissions Committee (JAMB) issued a strong warning to candidates preparing for the 2025 Unified Level 3 Entrance Examination (UTME) that they are strategic in choosing test towns rather than making hasty choices.

Jamb’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjaminin a statement released in Abuja on Sunday, it was clarified that the board did not assign the examination towns to candidates, but allowed them to choose based on the slot machines available.

Naija News The report said his statement was a response to the overwhelming demand for space in certain places, especially for optional simulation checks, where 90% of available slots have been filled in nationwide.

“JAMB observed candidates’ abnormal preference for their selection of test towns, probably in order to take an optional mock exam.

“The notice was intended to advise candidates not to desperately choose test towns, but later accused the board of directors of allocating it to towns far from their residence, town or state.

“The only states of the remaining positions of the optional mock exam are Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kebbi, Plateau, Sokoto, Taraba and Yobe.

“Cannuals interested in performing mock exams in these states are encouraged to choose their test towns accordingly,” He said.

Benjamin further stressed that while candidates are free to choose their preferred location, they should carefully consider the logistics involved.

He noted that some candidates chose test towns away from their residence, sometimes even in different states, and later blamed on the inconvenience Jamb had caused you.

“The board provides candidates with simulated inspection space, selected based on the availability of the simulated inspection center, and once the capacity of the town is reached, it will no longer be available.

“The board does not want to be over-intensified because the mock check is just to give the due candidates the opportunity to experience the CBT environment and to enable the board to test its facilities.

“Cannouncements are encouraged to consciously choose a town with travel logistics and convenient exams, thus ensuring a smooth experience on the day of the exam.” A JAMB spokesman added.
