
Chidera Ukeje’s father and stepmother were taken into the D0 abuse victim with burns and bruises, and her body was taken away.
The girl’s plight was made public after calling on her to seek help on social media (read here).
They explained that her stepmother beat her regularly and starved her to death.
Chidera was also removed from office, segregating her in the house where she was tortured.
The girl was recently locked in the house while her stepmother traveled and neighbors had to rescue her with a ladder because they were worried she might not survive.


Subsequently, the Department of Family and Sexual Violence and police in Lagos State intervened to take Chidera to the hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment.
Chidera’s father and stepmother are now taken in for inquiry.
Chidera’s father, Vitalis Ukeje, was accused of encouraging abuse of his children.

He denied participation and claimed he was unaware of the abuse his daughter suffered, a statement that it was hard to believe the extent of Chidera’s physical injury.
It is said that Vitalis Ukeje’s stepmother, Joy Ukeje, married four years ago, was married after Chidera’s mother’s de@th, and is said to have suffered Terror and abused people.

The legal action has begun and Joy Ukeje plans to be sued in court.
