    The police are k! lling 65-year-old neighbor in Ondo

    Police tried a 32-year-old man, Emmanuel Fasuyi, in a district court in Akure on Wednesday, allegedly K! lling his 65-year-old neighbor Grace Ogunsulire after stealing from her house.

    Police charged Fasuyi with one count of murder.

    Prosecutor’s attorney Owolabi Edu told the court that the offence was committed at 12:00 p.m. on Oke-Itura Street in Yaba Ondo Town on September 16, 2024.

    Prosecutors claim that Fasuyi Gruesomely k! lled ogunsulire hit her in the head with an object.

    According to EDU, the defendant broke into the deceased’s house with the intention of stealing without knowing he was indoors.

    He said that after the defendant saw the deceased come out of the bathroom and identified him, the defendant immediately approached her and hit her head with an object, which eventually led to her d3ath.

    He said the crime violated Article 319 of the Ondo State Criminal Law.

    Prosecutors urged the court to withdraw the defendants at the Correctional Center for recommendations by the Director of Public Prosecution DPP.

    Magistrate Mrs. Ri Adelakin adjourned the case until February 25, 2025, when the application and ruling were heard.

    Therefore, he ordered the defendant’s remand in SCID, Akure ordered the remand of the defendant.
