The governor said: “The Forum reaffirmed its strong support for the comprehensive reform of the ancient Nigerian tax law. Members acknowledge the importance of modernizing the tax system to enhance fiscal stability and align with global best practices.
“The Forum endorsed the revised VAT sharing formula to ensure fair distribution of resources: 50% based on equality, 30% based on derived, and 20% based on population.”
At the first meeting in 2025, the governor should discuss and review the latest news about the recently approved tax reform bill.
The 36 governors will also talk about topics such as the state, state police and other related issues.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, is preparing for the National Economic Commission, which is scheduled to be held at the Presidential Villa of Abuja on Thursday.
