Senate convenes NSA and DSS bosses suspected of Boko Haram funding

The Nigerian Senate has called out National Security Advisors, heads of the National Intelligence Agency and Defense Intelligence Agency to show that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has been providing funding for Boko Haram.

Senator Ali Ndume’s motion raises concerns about viral videos of U.S. Congressman Scott Perry, a Republican representing Pennsylvania (Scott Perry), the call was investigated urgently. Perry alleged at a congressional hearing that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) was involved in funding for global terrorist activities, including Nigeria.

Ndume pointed out that the claim comes from Nigeria’s defense officer General Christopher Musa warned that terrorist organizations operating in the country were receiving funding and training from international organizations.

The allegations also came days after Perry accused the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) of funding funding from global terrorist organizations including the Islamic State, Al-Qaeda and its local branches. Perry claims that the US Agency for International Development’s annual budget is $697 million to fund extremist training camps and Islamic schools (Islamic schools).

U.S. lawmakers, a Republican member of former President Donald Trump, issued a statement at a meeting of Trump’s advisory body founded to review U.S. government spending. Trump has been accused by critics of trying to undermine institutions like the United States Agency for International Development, after suspending all foreign aid in January to assess whether funds are aligned with U.S. interests.
