The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has clarified that it has not imported single-up Advanced Sports Spirit (PMS) since the beginning of 2025.
The statement was presented by NNPC CEO Kyari at the 60th Nigerian Mining and Geoscience Association (NMGS) Conference in Abuja.
According to Kyari, critics believe that the NNPC imports 200 million liters of fuel in the last few days of February 2025 is completely wrong.

“These are just lies because we didn’t even import products in the time frame mentioned in the report. “All the pranks that align this virtual import with so-called low-quality fuels are groundless,” he said. ”

Kyari also pointed out that there are no quality issues in PMS nationwide.
“The discussion about fuel quality is unfortunate and it is also a very bad marketing practice. It’s all drama and entertainment, and as we all know, drama has a way to entertain people,” he said.
Regarding a viral video claiming that NNPC fuel is not up to standard compared to Dangote gasoline, Kyari sees it as “unfortunate drama and bad marketing practices”.
NNPC lowers gasoline price to N945 per liter
Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) announced that gasoline prices at retail stations have been reduced from N960 to N945 per liter.
The new price will take effect on Thursday, February 13, following the company’s instructions.
