    EFCC aignaights 4 Chinese nationals suspected of cyber terrorism, Internet fraud

    • The EFCC tried four Chinese nationals on suspicion of cryptocurrency investment and romantic fraud.

    • Defendants Xia Guang Can, Li Xu Xin, Zhang Xue Hui and Lu Yubo are part of a group of 792 members arrested in Lagos for Internet fraud and cyber terrorism.

    • The suspect “pleaded not guilty” and was remanded in custody at the Correctional Center. The trial date is scheduled for March 18, 31 and April 3, 2025.

    The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC)’s Regional Bureau of Lagos has arraigned four Chinese nationals in the Federal High Court in Lagos for alleged cryptocurrency investment and romantic fraud.

    Defendants Xia Guang Kan, Li Xin, Zhang Xuehui and Lu Yubo are part of a group of 792 members arrested in Lagos last year by EFCC officials.

    According to the EFCC, the men were arrested after receiving tips and verified intelligence, operating in the seven-story building at 7 Oyin Jolayemi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    The charges against the defendant are charged with Internet fraud, cyber terrorism, documents with false excuses, early fee fraud and identity theft.

    Three defendants, Li Xu Xin and Zhang Xue Hui were brought in a separate charge before Justice M. Kakaki, while Lu Yubo filed it on two charges before Justice Ayokunle Faji litigation.

    EFCC aignaigns 11 Chinese national, suspected of cybercrime company in Lagos

    Lagos Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) heard 11 Chinese Nationals and Gentleman International Co., Ltd. on Friday in Federal High Court Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke in Ikoyi, Lagos, demanding cyber terrorism and the internet Fraud.

    The defendants—Li Niu, Xiao Qinyun, Fu Zheng Yang, Xiao Yi, Bei Bei Linde Jun, Li Hang, Huan Livo, Wang Wei, Tong Mo Ying, Gao Yang, Zebin Chen, and Yuan Zhibin were charged following their alleged involvement in a large-scale cryptocurrency investment and romance fraud scheme.
