Governance expert Dr. Joe Abah reveals what happens when he mistakenly sends money to the wrong beneficiary.
In his experience, he advises people to clean up the beneficiary list intermittently to avoid sending money to the wrong person.
After Bashir Ahmed, the former aide to President Buhari, he shared his experience of him making mistakes to the wrong account and the bank refused to correct it.
Dr. Abah wrote: “Normalize the cleanup of beneficiaries on your banking app. That’s how I want to send money to a certain SEIDU and mistakenly send it to a SEIDU I haven’t talked to in 10 years.”
“I called the bank and they said I needed to go and swear an affidavit. I said “Haba! n30k? ” They asked if I had received the notification and if I had hung up before the transfer.
“The seidu who got the money wrongly never even called me. I called him and he didn’t answer or call back. I sent it wrongly.
“The useless guy just replied ‘Thank you, sir. I really need me to come. God goes to bless you. I just left the money to him and sent it to the right Seidu again.”
