    Double Explosion Rock Oil Facilities

    • Twin explosions occurred at two mobile stations near the Cawthorne Passage in River State, causing damage and fear of casualties.

    • The explosion occurred Wednesday night, and video showed the facility engulfed by flames and locals checked the scene.

      The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, and officials from Nigeria’s National Petroleum Corporation Limited visited the site.

    A devastating twin explosion occurred Wednesday night at two mobile stations near the Cawthorne channel on the Bonney Coast River

    The explosion destroyed several facilities at the rover about 30 miles from the Bonny coastline.

    Videos posted online by community members showed that two stations were engulfed by flames and locals inspected the scene from speedboats.

    The conversation in the video shows that heat from the welding operation may have stimulated the fire and spread rapidly.

    Rivers State Police spokesman Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the incident, noting: “Yes, we know this. At the moment, the details are very sketchy, but we have sent someone Go there to investigate.”

    Officials of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited were reportedly warned by locals and visited the site.

    The company or any regulatory authority has not issued an official statement.

    River Governor Fubara

    Rivers Governor Sim Fubara announced that his crisis with Federal Capital Territory Minister FCT, Nyesom Wike, led to his freedom to rule.

    Fubara accepted the church’s remarks at the state building in Port Harcourt while receiving the Nigerian church, the Anglican Communion, most of the Reverend Henry Ndikaba and the bishop of the church.
