Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva accuses Donald Trump of wanting to “become the world emperor” on Thursday, January 20, calling on the U.S. president to respect Sovereignty of other countries.
“Democracy after World War II is an example of the best governance in the last 70 years,” Lula said in an interview with local radio stations.
He added: “He is trying to make a voice in all countries and in all public policies.”
Lula’s comments were posted on Trump’s blow-up of Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelensky, branding him as a “dictator” and blaming him on Russia invaded his country.
Washington has bothered the Kieffer administration and European leaders by conducting direct negotiations with Russia to end the war.
Rather than giving an example, Lula urged Trump to “recognize the need to respect the sovereignty of every country.”
Lula, who hasn’t spoken with Trump since taking office in January, reiterated that the United States is a key business partner in Brazil and demanded a greater gesture of “friendship”.
“We want this protectionism to stop,” he said, referring to tariffs announced by Washington on Brazilian products, such as steel.
