Edo State Governor Okpebholo revealed on Monday that his predecessor, Godwin Obaseki, was paid to the new office chair along with the official Nigerian weapon coating.
Speaking on Channels TV’s politics today on Thursday evening, February 20, Okpebholo explained that while he would not conduct a personal investigation into Obaseki’s government, the system will eventually investigate financial issues and ensure any stolen funds are recovered.
“I’m not the one who detects them. The system will detect them. I tell you, so much money has to do with another thing. These payments will come out when the time comes. I won’t hide anything,” he said.
Okpebholo tells his experience after taking office, revealing that he had to buy his chair because Obaseki got his ex.
“Even if I enter the government, I have to use my money to buy my seat. Obaseki sits down. Chair, yes. It’s the Nigerian badge in the office. He accepted. A man who can sit in an office chair, tells I won’t accept anything,” he said.
The governor attributed his election success to God’s intervention and insisted that even if he competed again within twenty years, he would still win.
“Can you even point out a godfather who pushed me?” the governor asked when asked about his political lineage.
“God is using people to help me, support me, to get to where I am today.”
“Let me tell you, the Edo people speak. We long for change. Even for the next 20 years, I will win. When I won the Senate seat, there was a current senator. At the time, everything was in trouble. I There is no water, no light, no roads, no money, no fuel. Everything is against us.
Compared with the popular PDP. But, we won,” he said.
