    • Edo State Governor, Okpebholo, on Monday, denied claiming he was carefully selected to be remotely controlled by the godfather of politics.

    • Okpebholo made the statement in an interview on Channel TV’s Political Plan Today, where he was asked about his political lineage.

    • He attributed his governor’s ambitions and inauguration to the Almighty God, who he used certain people to support him.

    Edo Governor, Okpebholo on Monday dismissed the claim that he was carefully selected by the political godfather and was remotely controlled as the state’s first citizen.

    Okpebholo made the statement in an interview on Channel TV’s Political Plan Today, where he was asked about his political lineage.

    According to Okpebholo, the Almighty God used some to support his governor’s ambitions and helped him to serve. “Can you even point out a godfather who pushed me?” he asked.

    He added: “God is using people to help me, support me, to get to where I am today.”

    Edo State Governor, Senator Okpebholo, revealed on Monday that the state’s 18 local government councils received more than 83 billion guilds of federal allocations in one year.

    According to the governor, the council accepts allocations of more than 6.5 billion guilds per month, receiving more than 8 billion guilds per month from October to December between January and September 2024.
