We only think of leaders of ourselves and our families - Sheikh Gumi

Shaikh Ahmad Mahmoud Gumi, a well-known Islamic scholar, said Nigeria is still looking for great leaders who can move the country forward.

According to him, such leaders are those who prioritize civic welfare over personal wealth accumulation. The pastor made these remarks in a reward speech organized by the Sultan Belo Primary School Old Students Association (Subopa) in honor of their two members, Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin (RTD) and Brigadier General Abdulkadir Gumi (RTD), who recently Received a government date.

Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin was appointed by the federal government as the Civil Defense, Fire Department and Immigration Commission (CDCFIB), while Brigadier General Abdulkadir Gumi (RTD) was appointed Chairman of the Zamfara State Security Trust Committee.

During his service, Gumi described the Shaolin General as a diligent, disciplined and dedicated Army official, stressing that Nigeria needs personal leadership positions like him due to his commitment and patriotism.

“This is because Nigeria is looking for great leaders to lead this country. We need people who are well-trained and have good personalities who really want to help others, not just themselves. People with good qualities and character should be the ones that people in national leadership positions.

“It’s not our leader in this country that only thinks about ourselves and our family,” he said.

He also expressed concern about the impact of insecurities in states such as Zamfara, noting that it seriously affects education and stability in some communities.
