Galatasaray’s Türkiye-based team accused Fernanbache’s head coach of being racist because he commented after the game on both sides.
Jose Mourinho accused Galatasaray of jumping around like a monkey during the game, which took place on Monday, February 24, 2025. After a 0-0 draw, Portugal International criticized the Turkish referee, indicating that it was originally a “disaster” to use the country’s officials.
Prior to the game, it was confirmed that the derby will be hosted by Slovenian Slavko Vincic, as both sides have asked foreign referees to be held accountable.
What did Mourinho say to Galatasaray?

Galatasaray issued a statement on its official website after the game, accusing Mourinho of being a racist.
The statement is as follows:

Fernanbache responded to Galatasaray, thus abandoning their support in Mourinho.
