I can hit my chest and say every governor knows that they have twice the allocation to the United States - President Tinubu speaks on the proceeds of canceling fuel subsidies

President Bola Tinubu assured Nigerians that his government’s commitment to national progress remains unwavering despite continued criticism from opposition voices.

The President said in a speech to members of the National Caucus of All Progressive Assembly (APC) at the Abuja State Assembly Conference Centre on Tuesday evening, February 25.

The president stressed that his administration is focused on achieving tangible results rather than engaging in political disruption.

“Despite the misleading, unfounded and frustrating claims made by our critics, our determination has not wavered, but they will continue to speak, but we are very focused.”

The president acknowledged that the implementation of certain economic policies, such as the elimination of fuel subsidies, had already raised challenges, but he insisted that such reforms were necessary to stabilize the country’s economy. He believes that Nigeria is not immune under the previous subsidy regime, stressing that the state government is now accepting more and more distributions that enable them to effectively implement development projects.

“It’s a tough challenge. These policies are difficult, but Nigeria cannot survive the burden of fuel subsidies. Today, I can hit my chest and say every governor here knows that their allocation to the United States has increased. Twice. We have enough funds for local governments.” He said
