Armed Boko Haram terrorists were spared overnight to launch attacks on Kwapre and its surrounding villages in Hong New Yadul district of Adamawa State.
The attack began at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 and erupted after midnight, leaving a road to destruction in its end.
Locals say places of worship, schools, houses and commercial sites were burned down and property worth millions of naira was robbed.
Kwapre’s village chief Joel Kulaha and King’s village chief Abalis Jawaja said the rebels landed in the community, burned buildings and transported valuables.
Fortunately, there was no life in the attack, they said, as residents who were escalating as the threat fled their homes before the attackers arrived.
“We escaped life, but everything we had disappeared,” Kuraha sighed, describing the chaos that happened.
According to gathering, troops stationed near Galaha responded to the attack in the early hours of the morning, interacting with the rebels and forcing them to retreat.
However, residents say military intervention is too late to prevent widespread destruction that puts the village into ruins.
