
In major law enforcement actions, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) closed several operations across the state to violate environmental regulations.
The crackdown focuses on the illegal placement of noise pollution and invading gases, targeting agencies in Surarel, Lagos continent, Aiguchi, Kosov and other regions. Among the sealed businesses are hotels, religious centers, gas plants and factories that were found to violate national environmental laws.
Affected places include a family hotel, a guest house, pholar Suites, Oak Spring Hotel and 18plus Hotel. Religious institutions also influenced the assembly of the Church of God, the redemption of the Christian Church of God and the Anvalur Islamic Movement.
The oil plant insert shell and Dorax gas operate in residential areas, as well as the Eco Fresh, a pure water plant.
LASEPA General Manager Dr. Babatunde Ajayi explained that the purpose of law enforcement exercises is to protect public health and safety.
“Environmental violations, including noise pollution and illegal site selection at fuel plants, pose serious risks to life and disrupt public peace. Our efforts aim to restore order and ensure compliance with the state’s environmental regulations,” he said.
The agency also expanded its operations to Festac Town, Abule Ado, Satellite Town, Ori Ade Amuwo, Agboju, Amuwo, Maza Maza and Navy Town, and sells other businesses here, including lounges, bars, hotels, hotels and warehouses.
Businesses closed include Woody’s Lounge, Lifestyle Hotel, Redemption Church of God, Obiagu Bar Lounge & Event Center, Flexus Hotel & Suites, Fairview Hotel, Hot Sport Bar and Bamade Park. Warehouses such as Mikky Cosmetics, Global Habib (Ponmo/Cowskin Warehouse) and Royal Rose Company (Tire Warehouse) have also been affected.
Ajayi reiterated Lasepa’s commitment to implementing environmental law and warned that similar actions would continue.
