An angry husband is suing a prophet who claims to be a prophet after the prophet has impregnated his wife. Edson Chirimani, who claimed to be a prophet, was accused of immersing a married woman in his congregation, resulting in miscarriage.
The woman’s identity has not been disclosed.
Chirimani denied the allegation, saying the woman’s husband, Nigel Furaijo, is now demanding reimbursement of hospital bills that occurred during the miscarriage. The matter has been escalated to the Harare Civil Court, where the peace order has been approved against Furaijo.
Furaijo publicly expressed his anger, accusing the Prophet of betraying him and not being responsible for the incident. Furaijo claims his wife admitted the incident, making him feel disrespectful and betrayed. He insisted that Chirimani should “look up” and be responsible for his actions.
Furaijo also criticized the need to pay hospital bills related to miscarriage, noting that he should not pay for those who betray him. “I want my money because I can’t pay the bill for people who can have sex with the prophet,” he said.
In the defense, Chirimani denied any involvement with the woman and insisted that Furaijo’s allegations were unfounded. He claimed that Furaijo had been harassing him and even visited his home. “Nigel sent me a picture of his wife and asked me if I knew her, and I denied that because I helped a lot of people,” Chirimani said. He added that Furaijo’s aggressive behavior made him worry about his safety and urged him to stop sending threatening messages and coming to his home.
Legal action has been taken in the case, and Chirimani has obtained a peace order to prevent further harassment or threats from Furaijo. However, because Furaijo demands accountability, Chirimani insists on his innocence and accuses Furaijo of his identity and harassment errors.
