Security executives from the Joint Task Force of Zamfara State (JTF) successfully thwarted the ransom payment operation, neutralizing a group of bandits in the TSAFE local government area Ganuwa Forest.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, when agents received intelligence on attempts to release the ransom for the kidnapping victims.
The bandits reportedly came out of their hideout to collect ransom, but encountered security personnel waiting.
After seeing the agents, the criminal opened fire, resulting in a fierce gunfight.
According to sources, JTF operators have maintained their strategic position, allowing attackers to spend ammunition before participating and neutralizing.
Two motorcycles and weapons belonging to bandits were found from the scene.
The kidnapped victim was rescued safely and was reunited with his family since then.
