Here are fans’ reactions to the recently concluded micro awards held in Tanzania on Wednesday, February 27, 2025.

The 2025 Trace Awards were held on February 26 at Mora Resort in Zanzibar, Tanzania to recognize the vitality and diversity of African music. The event highlights various genres such as Afrobeats, Dancehall, Hip-Hop and Afropop, artists from over 30 countries compete in 24 categories.

Nigerian artists have made a big impact, and Rema has won several awards including Album of the year,,,,, Best Music Videosand The best male artist. D’Banj received honors Lifetime Achievement Awardand Mercy Chinwo won The best gospel music. The ceremony features exciting performances by D’Banj, Yemi Alade, Rema, Wally Seck and Diamond Platnumz.

However, despite the celebration atmosphere, fans were frustrated by the technical difficulties of social media during live performances and concerns about the event organisation. In addition, influencer Priscilla Ojo and her husband Juma Jux have attracted attention for their stylish appearance.

Trace Awards aims to celebrate the contributions of artists and industry professionals to foster pride and ownership in the African music field.

I saw some reactions from fans:

    Very shocking performance.
    Street parties are better organized.
    College performances are organized.

    What’s wrong? organizer?
    host?
    artist?
    Sponsor?

How did the music station fail so badly at organizing a music awards ceremony?

You need to trace your steps.#traceawards2025

What a production disaster, poor sound, poor lighting, wrong screens, and a presenter who shared a microphone (no brand, nothing), I lost it in the video generated by the AI.

IDK if it is a venue or production

    Rwanda will never. #traceawards #traceawards2025

Trace TV failed us today, the live experience was the worst, resting throughout the event, almost 1 a.m. with just two awards and a few performances.#traceawards2025
