The federal government has confirmed plans to regularize electricity bills, especially for B and C customers.

The Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu made the news as a public introduction to the National Integrated Power Policy and Nigeria Integrated Resources Program in Abuja on Thursday.

Currently, B B clients enjoy 18 to 17 hours of electricity supply and pay N63 per kilowatt-hour. By comparison, consumers in the A band who only have two hours charge N209 per kilowatt-hour.

He further emphasized: “The gap between the band A tariff and the band B, C, C, D and E is too wide. We think it’s unfair. It’s not only that we have to be able to do a certain degree of regularization.”
