Neymar’s Brazilian striker Santos revealed that his “father” Pep Guardiola promised to change the striker’s name and did not score 60 goals in a season.
Neymar revealed the way Guardiola tried to sign Bayern Munich in the past when it opened.
According to Neymar, he almost went to the Bundesliga Giants because Guardiola won the Puscas Award.
“I almost went to Bayern because of Guardiola…. My dad kept calling me at 2am after I won the Puscas Prize. I replied, and he told me to open the door…. I was in the boxer at the time.
“It’s my father, Pep Guardiola and the translator,” Fabrizio Romano quoted Neymar.
“Pep told me: I want to sign you and take you to any club I go to. I will make you the best player in the world.
“He showed me a paper, turned on my laptop and told me where I was playing… PEP also said: If you don’t score 60 goals in a season, I’ll change my name.
“I’m talking about… OK, but what team? Pep said: I can’t tell you yet because it hasn’t come out yet. I convinced him and he said: I’m signing with Bayern. I know it’s a cold city, but I’ll take care of you. In the end, I decided to join Barcelona.”
So far, Neymar has also played for Paris Saint-Germain and Al-Hilal.
