Nigerian army neutralizes terrorists, foil logistics operations and arrests key collaborators

During the liquidation operations in the Northeast and Northwest, Nigerian troops neutralized the terrorists, foiled logistics operations and arrested major collaborators.

The Army said in a statement Thursday, February 28, 2025 that the troops arrested a kidnapped king who specifically kidnapped the terrorism of Zamfara State.

According to the statement, four Boko Haram family members surrendered to troops in the Bama local government area of Borno State.

“In the ongoing offensive against terrorism, the Nigerian Army’s forces have strengthened the removal of multiple theaters, causing a major blow to terrorists in the Northeast and Northwest regions,” the statement said.

On February 26, 2025, troops from the Sambiza Forest, Iza’s terror stance and the village of Garin Asmau in the Bama local government area of Borno State forced the rebels to give up their hiding place.

During the operation, the troops successfully detonated several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that fled terrorists.

The troops also restored two AK-47 rifle magazines, which contained 57 rounds of 7.62mm specialty ammunition and a general-purpose machine gun (GPMG) barrel, while four Boko Haram families surrendered.

In the Konduga local government area, troops ambush terrorists at a known crossing point, neutralizing one, while others fled with gunshot wounds.

The troops acted with fresh intelligence and conducted another ambush at the main terrorist logistics center in the Gujiba local government area, triggering a fierce gunfight.

The ongoing firepower forced the terrorists into chaos. A thorough mop operation led to the discovery of a neutral terrorist, two motorcycles, two AK-47 rifles and two AK-47 rifles magazines, loaded with 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

Further tightening the noose about terrorist collaborators, the Biu local government forces arrested two Boko Haram financiers, specializing in selling sharks to raise funds for insurgency.

In the northwest, the troops recorded another breakthrough in counter-terrorism operations. In Kabaje village in Kaura Namoda local government area in Zamfara state, troops arrested a notorious terrorist logistics provider specializing in providing drugs to insurgents.

The suspect was caught in various drugs, medical kits and cell phones, which contained the names of suspicious terrorists on the security surveillance list.

Similarly, in the village of Nasarawa in the Bukuyum local government area of Zamfara State, the troops arrested a kidnapping master king who was specifically kidnapped to finance terrorism. After he confessed, another key accomplice was arrested.

Preliminary investigation shows that the group kidnapped the regional vice chairman of the Bukuyum local government on February 24, 2025.

Meanwhile, in the Plateau State, the troops quickly responded to reports of herders’ murderers and cattle rustling in Njogiri Village, Bokos local government area, resulting in the recovery of 57 cattle stealing.

Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant Olufemi Oluyede promised that sufficient combat promoters would be provided to further improve the combat efficiency of the troops and therefore, a firm commitment was made to the troops. He praised the public for its unremitting support.
