Lil Baby’s legal team is overturning the Atlanta Police Department (APD) after police advised the rapper to have links to gang-related shootings in 2024 that killed two teenagers.
rapper’s lawyers Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg issued a statement to TMZ, calling APD’s allegations “completely boring.”
In a press conference Wednesday, APD officials announced the arrest of seven gang members, allegedly causing two fatal shootings and the injury of the third victim.
APD murder commander Ralph Woolfolk specifically mentioned Lil Baby, noting that the rapper was shooting music videos in the area where violence occurred, and hinted that he “knows he shouldn’t have been there.” Woolfolk described it as a “cowardly act” and vowed to hold the baby accountable.
His lawyer quickly opened fire backwards, believing that Lil Baby had nothing to do with violence and had the right to shoot music videos in his hometown.
“It is shameful to say he can’t shoot music videos where he loves and continues to improve,” the lawyer said. They also stressed that the decision to choose a shooting location was made by a professional team rather than a rapper himself.
The lawyer further criticized the APD’s “unprofessional, immoral and shameful” handling of the situation and insisted that the baby was “absolutely not involved”.
According to his legal team, Lil Baby was shocked by the incident because he and the victim grew up near the same Atlanta where the violence occurred.
