Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment. Akpoti-uduaghan filed charges in an interview with Arise on Friday, saying Akpabio blocked her motion because she refused his progress and was heard on the Senate floor.
According to Akpoti-Uduaghan, the incident occurred on December 8, 2023, when she visited the Akpabio home in Ikot-Ekpene.
She claimed that Akpabio held her hand and made an inappropriate comment, saying, “Now you are a Senator, you will spend time here for us and you will love it.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan also claimed that Akpabio later told her on the Senate floor: “Natasha, I am the chief host of the Senate. If you take care of me and make me happy, you can enjoy a lot.” She said she told him she would pretend she wasn’t hearing comments.
Kenny Okulogbo, a media consultant at Akpabio, responded to the allegations, describing them as “a lies organization.” Okulogbo said Akpoti-uduaghan was angry because she was removed from office as chairman of the Senate Local Content Committee.
“Everything Senator Natasha said was a lie organization. She was angry because she was removed from office as chairman of the Senate Local Content Committee. The Senate President will respond. We will issue an official statement as soon as possible.”

Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan filed a lawsuit against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, accusing him of making defamatory statements against her.
The lawsuit was filed in the Federal Capital High Court on February 25, 2025, listing Akpabio, the Federal Republic of Nigeria and senior legislative aide, with Senate President Mfon Patrick as defendants.
