Jude’s bail hearing Any Paul Okoye (Rudeboy)’s brother, Okoye, was held today in the Federal High Court in Lagos.
Okoye faces seven charges related to illegal financial activities, including money laundering of more than $1.38 billion, $1 million and £34,537.59.
At the bail hearing, attorneys for Jude Okoye, led by prominent human rights advocate Inibere Effiong, asked to speed up the matter due to Okoye’s upcoming flight. Judge Alexander Owoeye approved the request, allowing the attorney to continue the bail motion.
However, prosecutors led by Fannel Anun believe that Okoye is a flight risk that could violate witnesses. Okoye’s lawyer countered that he complied with all court invitations and that it was not a flight risk.
at the same time, Paul OkoyeThose present at the court tried to speak directly to the court, but suggested communication through their attorneys. He filed documents to ensure his brother was bailed, but the judge noted that he was already familiar with Paul’s television appearance.
The hearing was postponed until the ruling on Monday, March 3, 2025, with Okoye temporarily staying in the correctional facility. Paul Okoye is advised to file his documents on Monday, which could affect the bail ruling.
Okoye’s company, Northside Music Ltd., is also involved in the case, which includes the purchase of a major property in Ikoyi in Lagos worth ₦8,000,000, using funds allegedly from illegal activities.
