
Allegedly, ISWAP terrorists in the West African province (ISWAP) attacked a commercial vehicle along Maiduguri-Banki Road in Borno State, injured a passenger and kidnapped a driver.
Intelligence sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred on February 27, 2025, near the deserted TUFA village in the Banki local government area, about 1:15 pm.
According to Bello Abba, the driver of the Toyota Planet vehicle, he transported six passengers from Maiduguri to Banki when the gunman appeared from the motorcycle and opened fire in his car.
To escape, the driver turned around and returned to the town of Banki.
But in the attack, Mohammed Ali Yaye, a 38-year-old passenger in Bama Town, was shot dead in his left leg.
The terrorist also kidnapped another driver, whose identity remains unknown.
The troops of operation Hadin Kai later arrived at the scene, but the attackers had fled.
The injured victim was initially treated at the Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC) in Banki and was referred to the General Hospital in Mora, Cameroon for further medical care.
