UEFA punishes Real Madrid against gay Guardiola

Real Madrid was fined by UEFA after the incident, with some of their supporters directing homosexual odes at Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

To yell at gay Guardiola’s gay sex, European football’s governing body demanded the Spanish La Liga giant to pay a fine of 30,000 euros, about £24,800.

In addition to monetary fines, Real Madrid also faces moratoriums on sanctions involving partial closure of its stadium. On the upcoming European fixtures, they must close seats of at least 500 adjacent seats. However, this section can only be performed if further events occur within two years.

The unfortunate chanting plot takes place at Real Madrid’s victory over Manchester City 3-1 in the second leg of the Champions League playoffs held earlier this month in the iconic Bernabéu.

The victory allowed Carlo Ancelotti’s side to be promoted to the knockout stage and qualify with a 6-3 overall score.

Looking ahead, Real Madrid will face their city rival Atescito Madrid in 16 rounds of the Champions League on Tuesday, March 4.

Manchester City, whose Pep Guardiola is no longer in the Champions League, will face Plymouth Argyle’s FA Cup later tonight.
