Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan warns Ekaette Akpabio
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, issued a strong warning to Ekaette Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, urging her to stay away from allegations of ongoing harassment against her husband.
Background of the accusation
In a recent interview on Arise TV, Akpoti-Uduaghan accused the Senate president of his inappropriate progress towards her in his office and in Akwa Ibom Residence.
In response, Ekaette Akpabio dismissed the claims, described her husband as a disciplined man and set out to file a libel and lawsuit against the Senator for fundamental rights.
Agility
Akpoti-uduaghan responded to the involvement of Ekaette Akpabio through lawyer Victor Giwa, an open letter dated March 1, urging the Senate president’s wife to avoid interfering in the dispute.
This letter partially reads:
“Our client does not want to bring you into the unfortunate legend, stating her allegations against the Senate president and want you to limit yourself to explore obscene circumstances.”
“While she tolerate all harassment by the Senate president, she was forced to reveal the unfortunate torture and victimization she suffered in the Red Room.”
Senators’ position on this issue
Akpoti-uduaghan made it clear that her allegations were personal to the Senate president and that he had the ability to defend himself without his wife’s intervention.
“Our client has concrete evidence to confirm her allegations. We recommend that you defend the Senate President’s allegations that you maintain your sanity and family.”
She further advised Ekaette Akpabio to focus on her own well-being and to avoid participating in the serious political and legal struggles she described.
What’s next?
As the lawsuit is already being filed, Akpoti-uduaghan insists on her claims, the controversy continues to spark heated debate. Will the Senate president respond in person, or will the legal struggle escalate?
