Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan’s husband Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan defended his wife after clashes with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Last week, Senator Kogi and Akpabio clashed on seating arrangements.
Subsequently, in an interview on Arise TV on Friday, February 28, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, claimed that the Senate president had succeeded in his office and residence in Akwa Ibom state. She added that she was hurt for not surrendering.
Akpabio’s wife issued a statement defending her husband and took the legal route.
On Saturday, March 1, Uduaghan of the Kingdom of Warri also defended his wife. He said his wife, Natasha, revealed to him her “interaction” with the Senate president, who met him but nothing changed.
“I met with the President of the Senate in person and urged him to expand courtesy and respect what my wife deserves, and also respect the friendship between us. We reached an understanding and agreed to resolve this issue friendly,” the statement said.
“But despite the agreement, my wife continues to express concern about the harassment she suffered at the Senate president.
“I have a strong belief in my wife’s loyalty and are fully committed to our marriage, based on love, compassion and mutual respect.
“I will never trade for her because she is the greatest happiness in my life.
“I now wish to urge the Presidents of the Senate and Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to treat my beloved wife with the respect and dignity she truly deserves, while the authorities and the courts have identified the basic issues.”
