Akpoti-uduaghan claimed to have been harassed by Akpabio and had sufficient evidence to support her claim, urging her wife to allow her husband to defend herself.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan, representing the Central Senate of Kogi, called on Mrs. Unoma Akpabio, the wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, to avoid sexual harassment and intimidation of her husband.
The dispute between Akpoti-uduaghan and Akpabio began after she refused to sit in a designated seat during the Senate meeting, citing the 10th order under the Senate Permanent Rule.
Tensions escalated when she appeared on Arise News on Friday, accusing Akpabio of blocking her motion, frustrating her and intimidating her after allegedly rejecting his sexual act.
In response, Mrs. Akpabio held a press conference in Abuja and dismissed the allegations against her husband.
She asserted that the two families had been intimately related for years before Akpoti-uduaghan’s marriage and suggested that these claims were unfounded.
However, in a letter dated March 1, 2025, through his attorney, Victor Giwa, Akpoti-uduaghan wrote a letter to Mrs. Akpabio, suggesting that she avoid being involved in the matter.
The letter, titled “Farewell to the sexual harassment and intimidation allegations of Sen. Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan against Sen. Godswill Akpabio; in order to maintain your sanity and family sanity.

The letter read in part: “Our client does not want you to be involved in allegations against the Senate President and wants you to bind yourself into obscene circumstances, and she tolerated all the harassment of the Senate President, she was exposed to the unfortunate torture and victims, and she revealed the torture and victims she involved in the Red Clan,’
Akpoti-uduaghan said she had enough evidence to support her claim, urging her wife to allow her husband to defend her sanity and family.
“Our clients have concrete evidence to prove her allegations. We will recommend that you defend the Senate President’s allegations that you maintain your sanity and family,” she said.
