Police arrested the man allegedly for defense!

Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Muniru Haruna, allegedly the three-year-old daughter of a neighbor.

Command spokesman Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident in a statement, saying the suspect attracted the minor to his room while playing.

According to the victim’s mother, Odutola, Alaba Abdullahi heard her daughter crying and quickly investigated.

She saw her child walking unsteadily as she came out of the suspect’s room.

“On March 1, 2025, at about 11:00 a.m., the local police station in Orile-Ilugun received a call from 20-year-old Alaba Abdullahi about her three-year-old daughter,” PPRO said.

“Alaba reported that Muniru Haruna, a 25-year-old man living in the same area, allegedly committed the act while the victim was playing nearby.

“Alaba discovered the incident when he heard her child crying and quickly investigated, only to find his daughter emerged from the suspect’s room in obvious pain.

“After further examination, it was revealed that the victim was having difficulty walking and showed signs of physical trauma.”

Odutola said the minor was taken to the general hospital Odeda for medical examination and necessary treatment, adding that police were waiting for the doctor’s results.

The PPRO noted that although the suspect denied the charges against him, adding that the case was forwarded to the crime department for investigation and would be transferred to the state CID Eleweran after the preliminary investigation was completed.

She reiterated the commitment of the order to ensure the safety and well-being of the public, especially children.
