
Elon Musk has urged the U.S. government to leave the United Nations and NATO.
The tech billionaire spoke on an article on X (formerly Twitter).
Political commentator Gunther Eagleman described himself as a “proud American No. 1 magazine patriot”, writing: “It’s time to leave NATO and the United Nations in X posts on March 1.
Musk, the leader of the Donald Trump administration’s Department of Efficiency (DOGE), reposted the message, simply adding “I agree.”
Musk also reposted a tweet today by Republican Congressman Thomas Massie.
Musk’s position comes as other Republican lawmakers call for reconsideration of the country’s NATO membership.
Utah Senator Mike Lee, a long-time NATO critic, called the group a “cold war relic” and believed it provided “a large number of deals” for Europe but “the original deal to the United States.”
