Zelensky begged Trump and vowed to make things right.
Nigeria News Nalin President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday that he wanted to “make things right” with Donald Trump and work under the “strong leadership” of the U.S. president to ensure lasting peace in Ukraine, the report said.
In his first public comment since Trump stopped U.S. military aid, Zelensky said his public blast with Trump last week was “regrettable” and promised to sign key minerals with Washington.
He also called for a “truce” at sea and in the sky as the first step to end the Three Years’ War.
A sharp collapse of the Kyiv-Washington War Alliance broke out in public since the Oval Office clash between Zelensky and Trump last week, following amid the suspension of critical military aid by Ukraine’s top allies.
“My team and I are ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership for a lasting peace,” Zelensky wrote on X.
“We held the Washington meeting in Washington on Friday, there wasn’t a way it should be,” the Ukrainian leader added. “It’s time to make things right.”
Trump’s astonishing decision on Monday deepened fear of Kiev and the situation in which many European capitals, the United States is moving away from allies and Russia.
Moscow praised Trump’s decision, which Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called “a solution that could truly push the Kiev regime into the peace process.”
The EU, together with Ukraine, has been scrambling to support Kiev’s support from the United States and Russia.
Trump-Zelensky Clash’s urgency increased last week, when Trump warned his Ukrainian counterparts that “it wouldn’t be long without a ceasefire agreement.”
European Commission Director Ursula von der Leyen proposed an EU plan on Tuesday to mobilize about 800 billion euros ($840 billion) for European defense.
She said the funding would “significantly strengthen” support for Ukraine and provide it with “immediate military equipment.”
The EU will hold an emergency summit on Thursday to consolidate European support for Ukraine.

The average Ukrainian was shocked by AFP’s betrayal of Trump.
“It’s like a stab in the back,” a 33-year-old financial assistant in Kiev only named Sofia, told AFP.
Trump “want Ukraine’s surrender, the death of our people, the surrender of our territory,” Army volunteer Sergiy Sternenko said in a telegram.
The Polish government noted that the U.S. decision was made without consulting NATO allies and that the Ukraine Weapons and Aid Logistics Center has seen impacts in IT-managed Ukraine.
“The report from the border and our hub confirms the announcement from the U.S. side,” said Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou told parliamentarians in Paris that the “whole train” provided by the United States to Ukraine is “stopping and preventing arrivals from reaching its destination.”
He said France will seek to assemble “all possible means” to fill the gap in aid left by the U.S. decision.
According to the New York Times, the U.S. suspension will affect hundreds of millions of dollars of weapons.

Zelensky visited Washington last week and signed a multibillion-dollar mineral deal, but it went bankrupt after a showdown with Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
Zelensky said Tuesday that Kiev is ready to sign a deal that will give the United States priority access to Ukraine’s natural resources and minerals “at any time and in any convenient format.”
Ukraine is seeking hard security assurances to end the war.
With the U.S. opposing bids to join NATO, Kyiv is turning to other Western-supported measures.
Downing Street said British Prime Minister Keir Starmer had rally to Zelensky’s support and he spoke to him on the phone on Tuesday to tell him that “no one wants peace more than Ukraine”.
After talks on weekend crisis in London, Britain and France are investigating how to propose a month-long Ukrainian-Russia truce, which could back off local forces.
Vance scoffed at the idea of ”some random countries that have not had war in 30 or 40 years” in an interview with Fox News on Monday. This prompted an angry response from French and British politicians.
Vance insisted that he did not mention France or Britain on Tuesday, saying that both have been “bravely” with the United States for the past two decades.
