The Rivers Judiciary denied the report and Chief Justice Simon Amadi will begin on Thursday on annual leave.
The denial was a report sent on social media that said the CJ was ordered by Governor Siminialayi Fubara, who left the country to block the alleged state capitol led by Martin Amaewhule to impeachment.
The judiciary was signed by David D. Ihua-Maduenyi in a statement from Port Harcourt. The Chief Registrar of the High Court said the annual leave report was false and misleading.
The statement said: “The attention of the River National Judiciary has been drawn to the publication of the Electronic Media Channel on March 5, 2025 Today’s News Week E-Media Channel, which violates: The Chief Justice of Revers State will take leave of absence from the previous year.
“The Rivers National Judiciary has explicitly and explicitly refuted allegations of malicious, misleading, false and unfounded against the Chief Justice of Rivers State and the Office. Judge Simeon Chibuzor Amadi (DSSRS).
“For records, the Chief Justice has not announced or intended to announce any adjournment or extended leave for the name given by any name, as such leave is for the aliens on the calendar of the judicial officer.
“The holiday calendar for judicial officials is publicly knowledgeable, i.e.: Christmas holidays, Easter holidays and annual holidays.
“It is hereby recommended that the public completely ignore this misleading publication designed to cause national wills, disappearances and confusion.”
