The Federal Capital Police Command intercepted a former immigration official who tried to sell the gun to bandits operating in the Abuja-Kaduna Forest.
The fired officer, who was not named, was arrested in a police intelligence-led operation.
Speaking in a reporter in Abuja on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Mustafa Mohammed said the operation prevented weapons from reaching criminals, which he said would have allowed them to reach d3adly.
“In intelligence, the command intercepted the guns in an attempt to sell them to bandits who terrorized the Abuja-Kaduna Forest. The intelligence was received in time and his arms were intercepted when he tried to deliver,” he said.
Among the recycled weapons, Mohammed said there is a Scorpion CZ EVO3, an advanced, fully automatic gun with a built-in muffler.
“This is the latest model, the 2022 edition of the Scorpion series. It can be used in single, automatic or burst mode. It is a highly complex weapon whose magazine can be performed between 20 and 30 rounds, depending on the configuration. We have also restored 52 rounds of ammunition, which can pose a serious threat if they are caught in the criminal charges.
