The Federal Society of the Blind (FNSB) of Nigeria commends the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) for supporting the visually impaired communities in Nigeria. Through financial donations and basic supply, FCMB has strengthened the FNSB program, the Pacali School for the Blind, the Bethesda Home for the Blind and the Blind Farm Center, which has tangible impacts on the lives of those serving.
FNSB Executive Committee Chairman Arit Tunde-Imoyo expressed his deep gratitude to the FCMB for its ongoing partnership. “FCMB is more than just a supporter; it has always been a true partner. Its generosity helps us maintain our mission to empower individuals with visual impairment to live an independent life,” She said.

FCMB’s corporate affairs department head Diran Olojo reiterated the bank’s commitment to fostering inclusion. “Everyone should have the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their ability. Our support this year reflects our dedication to empowering communities with visual impairment,” he said. He said.
Olojo also stressed the need to challenge social stereotypes about disability. “Visual impairments are as successful as anyone else. The real obstacles are not their limitations, but the misunderstandings and lack of support they face. At FCMB, we are committed to breaking these obstacles by providing resources that enable them to pursue their ambitions and live a life of fulfillment.”
Oluwamayowa Oke, Executive Secretary of the FNSB Vocational Training Center, acknowledged the consistency of FCMB in supporting the center and its students. “The generosity of FCMB ensures the welfare of our students and enhances teaching and learning,” He said.
Hameed Kareem, assistant teacher at Bethesda’s House of the Blind, also praised FCMB’s commitment and prayed for the bank’s ongoing success.
FCMB’s dedication to the visually impaired community goes beyond donations. Since 2009, its priceless sight initiative has partnered with the Tulsi Chanrai Foundation to provide free eye care services to 400,000 Nigerians. These services include ophthalmic testing, optical therapy, surgery and disease management – key interventions conducted in a country with blind or visually impaired.
FCMB has provided assistance and promoted a future where visually impaired Nigerians have opportunities and resources to thrive.
