
Islamic priest Abdulrahman Bello is accused of killing and dismembering the last year student of the Kwara State Education College in Ilorin, Ilorin, on Thursday, March 6, Hafsoh aDefaLawal of Ilorin told the court that he committed the crime single.
Bello, along with his alleged four accomplices, imploring the court to release his suspects, stressing that they knew nothing about the crime.
Bello said he killed and dismembered Havso, whom he met on Facebook.
Four other suspects arraigned with Bello include Ahmed Abdulwasiu, Suleiman Muhyideen, Jamiu Uthman and Abdulrahman Jamiu.
However, the court told Bello that he should make this claim when the case has been transferred to the High Court at a proper trial.
Just like the Justice Department of Kwara state announced its appearance to take over the case.
The Ministry’s legal representative is Barr. Issa Zakari informed the court that the legal consultation of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) has been eliminated and that the defendant (Bello) has a case to answer.
Dr. Folorunso Ahmad Hussein, the lawyer for the deceased’s family, did not object to the ministry’s application, but defended Hafsoh and his family.
However, host Sanusi Muhammad adjourned the matter until March 20, 2025 for further mention, while he ordered the suspect to deposit at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin.
