
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two Pakistani nationals on the alleged allegedly leading a kidnapping gang in the state.
This was disclosed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, CSP. He noted that the arrests were arrested after receiving a call in distress on Wednesday, March 5, involving the kidnapping of a 48-year-old Pakistani man in Ikeja.
According to Hundeyin, anti-crime patrols from the Ikega branch were deployed, resulting in the rescue of the victims and arrested two suspects, Roma Owl, 19, and Aftab Ahmad, 28. There are also five other suspects, also Pakistani nationals, reportedly.
He mentioned that preliminary investigations showed that the suspect seduced victims from Lagos, Kano, with the excuse of being a chef.
“The suspect booked a flight to Lagos for the victim and took him to a hotel on February 28, 2025. Three days later, the victim’s boss paid $1 million and then reminded the police. Police then recovered the grey Toyota Camry sedan used by the suspect, the victim’s $2,000 cash, three ATM cards, a green card, driver’s license and Nin Slip. ”
Hundeyin added that efforts are being made to arrest and bring him to justice. He confirmed that the rescued victim was in good condition and reconnected with his family.
