Israel-The reconstruction of Lebanon after the Helila War cost $11 billion? World Bank

The World Bank estimates that Lebanon will need about $11 billion in recovery and reconstruction after the devastating war between Israel and Hezbollah, which ends with a ceasefire in November 2024.

In a report assessing the losses and economic losses, the World Bank details the financial losses of the conflict, which began on October 8, 2023, when Hezbollah launched an unprovoked attack on Israel and continued until December 20, 2024.

“There is an estimated $11 billion in reconstruction and recovery demand after the conflict affecting Lebanon,” the report said.

The war has resulted in widespread destruction in southern Lebanon and the suburbs of Beirut, with thousands of homes, businesses and public infrastructure severely damaged or damaged.

The November ceasefire deal stagnated hostilities, but the damage left behind exacerbated Lebanon’s economic crisis, which was already one of the worst in the world.
