The U.S. mission in Nigeria condemned the Rev. Sylvester Okechukwu, the Catholic priest of Kaduna, to call it cruel and meaningless.
Okechukwu reportedly kidnapped his residence by suspected bandits on Tuesday night, March 4, and his body was found on Wednesday.
The pastor serves in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tachiri, Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
“We are frustrated by the brutal killing of Pastor Sylvester Okechukwu, priest of Kaduna State, Nigeria. We strongly condemn this horrible act of violence. We express our deepest condolences to our father’s family, congregation and community.”

“The American mission is troubled by the cruel and meaningless killing of Father Sylvester Okichuck of Kaduna State, Nigeria.
“We strongly condemn this horrible act of violence,” the Diplomatic Mission said in the Brief Statement.
