
A 25-year-old man from Zimbabwe, reportedly died of suspicion of suicide after exploding explosives, leaving only teeth as identifiable remains. The tragic incident occurred on Independence Day and has since sparked a police investigation.
The deceased was identified as a talent runi and was found dead in his rental room in Kwekwe in the suburb of Mbizzo. According to Midlands Deputy Police spokesman, Assistant Inspector Fungai Ngawagare, police in the Republic of Zimbabwe are actively investigating the matter. “The Republic of Zimbabwe police confirmed that a suspected suicide case was investigated in which a 25-year-old Mbizo man was found dead in his room with teeth blown out and blood stains,” Ngajagarh said in a statement. Police responded to the scene and reported that the room was covered in blood and only Runi’s teeth recovered from the obvious explosion. No other recognizable body parts were found, indicating the intensity of the explosion.
It is detailed that Runi recently arrived at Kwekwe from Gokwe with his cousin Tinotenda Tsvangira. Two lane divisions after arriving at the town, but later that day, tsvangira received a disturbing call from their aunt who told him that Runi was allegedly considering suicide. Tsvangira was shocked and rushed to Runi’s residence, but found that the door was locked. He entered through the window and discovered a terrifying scene, with Runi’s body and blood splattering throughout the room.
Authorities said several items were found on the scene, including second-hand and unused explosives, ignition ropes and a box of matches. These findings suggest that explosives play a direct role in suspicious suicide.
