
Abia State Police Department has confirmed the kidnapping of billionaire businessman, Chief Obasi Lawson and his two assistants! lling.

The headquarters spokesman DSP Maureen Chinaka said in a statement on Friday, March 7, 2025 that an investigation into the kidnapping of Obasi Lawson is underway.
“On April 3, 2025, at about 21:30 hours, we received a report from Justice Guby Guby saying that Asp Tanko Natip, Inspector Ernest and himself from Harcourt Port Harcourt Special Protection Mute (SPU) Base 6, in Rivers State, were accompanied by Obasi Lawson CEO, who was accompanied by Arochukukukwu.
“At about 13:00 hours, when they returned to Harcourt Port through the UKWA Eastern Government Area Azumini Ndoki, they ambushed at MKAP Jekere Ndoki around 19:00 hours.

“The tactical team was immediately drafted to the scene and is currently combing through the area to save the victims from harm.
“The crime scene has been visited and police agents tidied out the area.
“Police Abia Commander Commissioner CP Danladi Isa immediately visited the DC Operation and other teams’ companies and urged residents to remain calm and safe as intensive patrols have been activated in the area.
