The June 12 election has been a fierce topic, with several claims about events narratives from different political parties.
Daily Trust reported that in his autobiography: “Service Journey” launched in Abuja on Thursday, February 20, the former Nigerian leader said he firmly believed Abiola won.
This is according to Professor Yemi Osinbajo, direct vice president of Nigeria, who reviewed the book.
“He also answered the question of whether Abiola actually won the June 12 election and I quoted him, ‘Although I have records after the election, Abiola may be in deeper reflection and For all the facts available, especially the detailed election results published as an appendix to this book, there is no doubt that MKO Abiola won the election on June 12.”
The former vice president quoted the IBB as saying that with another opportunity, he will handle the June 12 elections in a different way.
Abiola, the candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), is considered the liberal in Nigeria, opposing Bashir Tofa of the National Republican Congress (NRC).
The results of the election were flowing when the military regime ordered the then National Election Commission (NEC) to stop the exercise under the leadership of the late Professor Humphrey Nwosu.
Babajda was quoted in his book saying he was pleased that former President Muhammadu Buhari recognized Abiola and respected him as the largest national champion of the Great Republic of the Federal Republic (GCFR).
