Nollywood veteran Segun Remi (known Chief Canlan) has reportedly passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, as announced by filmmaker Seun Olukoteyo.
The cause of death remains to be confirmed. Chief Kanran, also a director, started performing in his childhood, studied theatre arts at Unilag and OAU, hosted TV shows at MTV Lagos, and later started full-time film production.

The incident first attracted public attention on August 10, when it allegedly blocked the comfort of comfortable boarding after refusing to turn off the phone. Reports show that her non-compliance has resulted in her being deprived of the opportunity to leave the plane when she arrives.
When comfortable videos were spread online, the situation worsened and caused widespread humiliation. She was subsequently detained in Kirikiri Prison for several days before being confirmed by Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo.
